The shop opens up as you win tournaments. The game keeps score of that but never shows you the score, so we’ve given it a name.

Every tournament you enter is worth something to the shop. Winning a cup’s first round scores its tier number (1 to 6), and winning the final scores double that, so a tier-1 cup is worth 3 in all and a tier-6 cup 18. The rounds in between score nothing. We call that running score your shop points. Play every cup once and you’ll have 189.

Grandpa’s shelf opens by a formula on it. On the stock cartridge, a band of dice appears when your points divided by three reach its number; ours divides by two instead, so an ordinary play-through with no grinding opens nearly the whole shelf. The switch below shows the shelf either way.

Each rung of the ladder appears together, once you have the shop points on its rail. A tile carries two prices: buy is what Grandpa charges, sell is what he pays you for one. Hover the name for the card.

🚫 Never on the shelf

Dark Magician Girl has a place on the shelf and a band of her own, but her price in the game’s data is 0 and the shop skips a die with no price, so her place shows as the same empty gap a locked die gets, in every region. She comes as a prize from Yami Yugi only.

Money is separate from all this: cups pay a prize when you take them, dice you sell fetch their price, and the purse tops out at 65,000 G. Free Duel pays nothing.
